Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen,
I'm Sathish Raghuraman and it is an absolute honour to be receiving the Huawei Maitree Scholarship 2011 and standing before you.
I would like to begin my quoting AR Rahman’s famous words at the Academy Awards in 2009. In response to winning the Oscar for the Best Original Music Score, he simply said “Ellapughazum Irraivunuke” which in Tamil means “All Glory Be To God”. I take this opportunity to thank the Almighty without whose blessings, I would never have climbed so high a ladder.
I am also sincerely thankful to Mom, Dad and my Sister for having constantly supported and encouraged me all through my life. Special thanks to Warden Ma’am and all my teachers and friends both in Singapore and India for their invaluable guidance and motivation respectively. I’m also extremely grateful to Huawei India Telecommunications and the Selection Panel in particular, for believing in my abilities and entrusting me with such a generous gesture. I wish to assure the management of Huawei and all my well-wishers that I shall leave no stone unturned in order to fulfill the responsibilities that come with such a magnificent honor.

I consider it as an honor and privilege to get the Huawei Maitree Scholarship, it certainly adds prestige to my degree and I am very grateful to Huawei for selecting me.
This particular course offers me twin qualifications. Besides studying BBA under both International and Chinese faculty, it provides me a very good opportunity to learn Chinese language skills which at present is regarded as a very important qualification as China emerged as the second largest economy.
As it is a Maitree Scholarship, I hope to contribute to the betterment of the relations between India and China which are currently the world’s leading, emerging economies. I will work hard to live up to the expectations.
